This very special grade II listed cottage dates back to 1750. Watergate nestles in a sheltered valley and one of four properties Alices Cottage provides peace a tranquility, a perfect holiday retreat at any time of the year. Just a few steps from the West Looe River where herons, kingfishers and buzzards are a familiar sight, with only the gurgling of a nearby stream to disturb the silence.

In Bob Acton's book of local walks he writes qThere are few spots more idyllic in this book or any other I have written than the hamlet of Watergateq. The cottage is beautifully equipped to a high standard. The beamed living room with Delabole slate floor has an ancient fireplace with wood burning stove to provide a special cosiness on a winters night. Alices Cottage has a modern tiled bathroom, a large bright airy kitchen with Rayburn stove to provide extra warmth and comfort.

A half hour walk along the West Looe River takes you into Looe with its busy fishing harbour, good restaurants, shops and beach. There are several coastal walks and places of interest close by. The pretty cottage garden provides a delightful summerhouse and makes Alices a cottage to which people return time and time again. There is parking for two cars.
