Holiday Cottage in Launceston, Cornwall, Higher Combe

With fabulous views over Roadford Lake. With 730 acres of water, Roadford Lake is the largest inland water in the South West. Set in picturesque surroundings, its an ideal venue for trout fishing, watersports, birdwatching, walking, cycling and horseriding, or, of course, just relaxing!

Nearby, there are country pubs offering gourmet food, farm shops to buy the freshest of produce and attractions such as Dingles Steam Village and Launceston Steam Railway and Castle.

With Boscastle and Tintagel just 20 miles away, you will not be short of places to visit during your stay. The accommodation at Higher Coombe is light and airy and offers fantastic panoramic views over the Devon countryside and Roadford Lake.

Manor Coombe is set in 10 acres of land for you to explore - home to a wide range of wildlife including deer, badgers and waterfowl on the lake, which can be viewed from the hide which was opened by Bill Oddie.

The accommodation offers 2 bedrooms with parking and large garden leading down to the lake.

LIVING

The spacious living room has a large, comfortable sofa with two matching armchairs, a coffee table and a feature fireplace. For anyone with a love of music, there is a fabulous grand piano and also an audiophile standard Linn stereo system in a wooden cabinet with enough quality to satisfy the most demanding of listeners. In addition, there is a top-spec wall mounted 42” Panasonic Viera Plasma TV with Freeview, a DVD player and suround sound system.

French doors open into the large conservatory with the views over the lake and Devon countryside filling the senses as you sit in the comfortable sofas.

DINING

There is an innovative integrated ‘kitchen in a cupboard’ which offers an electric hob, integrated micro/oven and fridge. A kettle, coffee filter and toaster is provided along with a full range of cutlery and utensils.
A dining table and five chairs is provided in the living area to provide ample seating for family mealtimes.

The owners are able to provide a delicious Devon breakfast if required (extra charge payable locally).
A laundry service is also available.

SLEEPING

Master Bedroom
Featuring a 6 foot kingsize bed, the classically-styled master bedroom has views over Roadford Lake and the surrounding countryside. Two bedside cabinets with lamps are provided, with a chest of drawers and plenty of hanging space for your clothes provided. Also provided is a double bed settee, to accommodate two extra guests. A wall mounted LCD television, mirrors and art adornes the walls, giving the finishing touches to this spacious room.

The bathroom is accessed through the master bedroom. It features a bath with shower above, sink and WC and heated towel rail.
The downstairs bedroom has double doors opening out onto a patio offering superb views down to the lake. There is a double bed, with a bedside table and lamp. A cupboard is provided for storage.
